Comprehensive DBT Program

Learn Skills to Live a Life Worth Living

Find balance in your life by seeking the middle path. Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is an evidenced-based therapy to help people with emotional dysregulation issues.

Comprehensive DBT services are available for persons with borderline personality disorder, substance abuse & dependence, behavioral addictions, eating disorders, depression, anxiety disorder, bi-polar disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, and other mood & cognitive disorders.

Goals of DBT Skills Group

Learn essential life-skills in a safe, comfortable classroom setting with other people receiving comprehensive DBT services. Learn how to be more aware of your thoughts and emotions, to fully experience your senses, and use this awareness (mindfulness) to better tolerate distress, regulate your emotions, and improve the quality of your relationships. Learn how to view life in a balanced way, and move away from a black and white perspective of the world. Stop the all-or-nothing thinking, and learn to walk the middle path.

MBSU Offers Skills Groups on a variety of days and times

DBT Skills Training Groups are now available to people not enrolled in our Comprehensive DBT Program. MBSU no longer requires individual therapy in order to attend Skills Group.

Skills training group is not covered by the majority of insurance policies, and MBSU does not bill insurance companies for this service. MBSU will provide you with an insurance billing sheet (CMS-1500) at the conclusion of group if you are interested in submitting to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.

Payment is due two weeks prior to the beginning of the module to secure a place in group. Patients committing to group acknowledge that the service fee paid for DBT Skills Training Group reserves a spot in that module and guarantees the patient full benefit of that module. Group Modules are closed, and a limited number of people are therefore admitted into each group Module (Distress Tolerance, Interpersonal Effectiveness, Emotion Regulation, Walk the Middle Path). Since this is a closed group, additional patients are not admitted until the start of the next module. Patients understand that by reserving a spot in the Skills Training Module, the are guaranteed attendance for that module, and the fee is non-refundable.

Chuck Nuttall, LCSW and the staff of MBSU take great pride in the continual goal of providing Dialectical Behavior Therapy according to the Evidence-Based Model as proven in the professional literature. We take great strides in evaluating the services we provide and hold ourselves and each other accountable for following and promoting the life-changing principles, strategies, and skills of the DBT model.
